I certainly didn't expect Western to win, but this is not a good start.

Even more sieve-ness on 2nd Wisconsin drive. Think UW had 4 plays of 20+ yards on that drive.

Someone asked me this morning if I thought Western could win, I told them "Not a chance, Wiscy will run over them." I hate being right.

Lots of time left in this one, but so far the Cotton Bowl demonstrating the chasm between the P5's and G5's top teams.

@Bluesman has to be rock hard right now watching a massive OL dominate the MAC...

Western blowing through time outs like they're Miami.

Western putting a drive together, and they fumble...

Edit: He might have been down. Initially ruled a fumble.

    Or coached by Marvin Lewis.

Almost cost them as they couldn't challenge a catch initially called an incompletion.

    Over-turned.

    Big score for the boat-rowers.

    17-7 Wisky at the half.

Corey Davis caught a pass for 22 yards on WMU first offensive play, and only targeted twice more the rest of the half. Methinks getting the ball to the best player in the conference would have been a higher priority.

The WWL just called Western's Pat Fitzgerald Larry.

PJ running around like a mad man. Must be the end of a quarter.

Killer TO for WMU deep in their own territory.

Badgers immediately turn it into 6. 24-10 early in the 4th.

Hope Martin is taking note for next year. Use the TE if you face WMU. ;)

Western with a miraculous TD reception on 4th down, but then they miss the PAT a la another MAC school I know.

    24-16 UW 3:27 4th

Western is going to run out of time...hell of a run and thanks for the cash, @TheRealPJFleck!

Fumagalli again, and that should do it. At least Western didn't look terrible. Still, an 0fer MAC bowl season.

WMU played well. went toe to toe. Just to much Fumagali.

Best MAC bowl performances were Miami and WMU. Both went to the mats against the "big boys" and more than held their own physically and athletically.

I would have taken a few more chances downfield to Davis, but pretty good overall effort by WMU.

WMU outplayed Wisconsin for 3 quarters. They looked like the better team, and if they had been ready to go from the start they probably would have won this game.

Wisconsin completed 9 passes for 122 yards to non-running backs. The TE had 6 of those catches for 83 yards and it seemed like all of his catches came in massive moments of the game. If a guy is burning you like that, you can't keep leaving him open. But Western kept trying to defend him with either single coverage or a soft zone. That and the inability to defend the outside run in the first quarter is what cost WMU the game.

0-6 is misleading...pretty sure we were 5-1 or 4-2 ATS!

Apparently the the Rose Bowl stands for Ridiculous Offensive Showcase Extravaganza (sorry). 84 points on the board with 2 minutes to go in the 3rd. What was the over/under? Something tells me Alex would know.
