Two surprises:

1. The #76 ranked Redhawks received an at-large bid to the NCAA tourney Regional in Columbus after finishing third to #29 Kent and #130 Ball St. at the MAC tourney (BSU lost a 13 stroke lead on the back nine of the final round).

2. No mention of the at-large bid here! It’s a big deal!

Good luck Redhawks. The Flashes are playing in the Kissimmee Regional starting tomorrow as well. Top five teams in each regional advance to the NCAA Championship in Stillwater OK in a couple of weeks.

Live scoring from Columbus will be available at golfstat.com

The matches will be played on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State.

If Miami was to purchase a golf course, for themselves, which one should they buy?  This is theoretical, the University isn't doing this anytime soon.

Miami did not receive a team at large bid. Only senior Patrick Flavin received the at-large bid as an individual. Patrick is argubly the best golfer in Miami history. He was first 1st team all-MAC all 4 years and competed in the NCAA regional every year.

Ah. I was going by the Golfstat page which just shows “Miami”. Makes sense.

Tough start for Patrick with rounds of 81-78. He had a record setting Fall, but never got it going in the Spring. Great career at Miami and will be interesting to see how he does as a pro.
