2019 MAC Tournament

A late swoon dropped us down to the fourth seed. That's killer because the format for this tournament so heavily favors teams with better seeding. To point, Miami basically has to win the first two games in order to have any chance. If they lose game one, they have to win six straight in four days; if they win game one and lose game two, they would almost certainly have to win five straight in three days. Play starts Wednesday at 6 against NIU.

Bummer. It looked like we would run away with the title a few weeks ago.

They got shutout 4-0 by NIU. They now have to win six straight games over the next four days in order to win the tournament. Kent St. got upset in the first game of the day, so we have to play an elimination game against them tomorrow at 10 AM. It looks like it's going to be a super short tournament run.

Miami 8, Kent St. 5, Final. You have to win one in a row before you can win six in a row.

We still have a shot at avoiding the extra game. If Central Michigan and Ball State both lose today, they will play in the morning game and then then winner will play Miami in the afternoon game.

    So go Bobcats and Huskies!

Heard on radio that Miami beat NIU, don't remember score. Hope I heard correctly.

Not looking good regarding extra game.  Currently 11-4 CMU.

CMU laid an 18-9 asskicking on OU, so we're guaranteed to play in the 10 AM game tomorrow. The opponent will be determined by the final game of the night. If Ball St. wins, we play Ohio; if NIU wins, we play Ball St.

OU scores in Top 12...heading into Bottom 12th.

A 12 inning game will kill either team’s chances of playing through the losers bracket. Uses up way to many arms. That said, score a couple here and sent the Bobcats home.

Cal Elvers just came about 3 feet away from tying it up. The Ohio LF made a running catch at the fence.

I'm not sure that's the case. Both teams have been riding the same relievers since about the sixth inning, so there's not a huge difference between 9 and 12 innings in terms of pitcher availability. The issue is that it looks like both guys have run out of gas the last couple innings, so they might need to go deeper in the bullpen if the game goes beyond this inning.

Miami ties it up on a sac fly, but Ohio escapes the jam. We're going to 13.

The live stats stopped updating. I thought we lost it because they have a zero posted for our half of the 12th. Go RedHawks!

The Miami RF just went head first into a concrete wall trying to dive to catch a foul ball. It looked really bad on first viewing. There could be lengthy delay right now.

Full movement, but a bad gash is what they said on the stream.

The ESPN+ broadcast just said that he was carted off and taken to an ambulance. They said they had heard from someone on the field that he had movement in his limbs, but that he had a large head wound.

Play is getting set to restart.
