Miami- BG game was the #2 " bad beat" of the year

DICKDICK Wealthy Alum
On the bsketball forum there was some discussion of "bad beats' in basketball, including the Duquesne game vs Penn State where Duquesne was anywhere from a 5 to 6 point underdog and in a tie game at the buzzer a Penn State player was fouled and Dambrot when nuts and got a couple of T's and ejected and after 6 free thows Penn State won by 6.  That was a "bad beat" for people who had Duquesne plus 5 or 5.5.

Anyway, this week a writer in the Las Vegas Review had an article listing the top 10 "bad beats" of the year.  ( Duquesne-Penn State was #9).  Well , the Miami-BG football game was #2 on the list.  I will just quote/paraphase the article:

#2  Miami (Ohio)-Bowling Green ( Under 55.5)

BG scored two touchjdowns in 91 seconds to make it 31-17 with 4:13 left.  The RedHawks could have taken a knee and run out the clock at the BG 3.  Insted Miami ran the ball and Davion Johnson scored to make in 38-17 with 34 seconds to go.  Falcons QB Grant Loy completed a 40 yard Hail Mary to Justin Sawmiller as time expired to send the game over at 38-23....Incredibly, a William Hill bettor needed the over to cash a $100 ten team parley that paid $72,000.
