Super Bowl Thoughts

Brady was Brady. Enough said. To me the MVP should go to the entire Bucs defensive. Very impressive performance. 29 pressures on Mahomes. Not having his 2 starting OT was a huge blow, but even with them, Bucs D would have prevailed. Outstanding game plan and execution. As to the penalties, I will limit my thoughts to one comment. The tone of this game was set with the 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Chris Jones that gave the Bucs a first down and led to points. That flag should have been kept in the refs's pocket. Any further comments on the first half penalties is unnecessary.

I’m just wondering how a logo that clearly looked like LIV was designed/approved.

Todd Bowles had a similar defense in 2014 when he was the defensive coordinator with the Arizona Cardinals and Bruce Arians was the head coach. This has been a long time in coming for both these guys.

KC has been “handsy” on defense all season. Ask the Browns fans on this board. They pulled the same crap against Cleveland and Buffalo in the playoffs.

Mahomes was unreal. But you can't win a game with 1 guy against 11 defenders who were lights out.

    That's what I've been saying.

That D was so relentless last night...at time Mahomes looked like a more agile Ben from Miami days avoiding guys in the backfield for as long as he could.

29 QB pressures on Mahomes says it all.

Mahomes faced pressure 29 times and Brady faced pressure 4 times. And people will use that win to justify claiming Brady as the GOAT even though he was clearly the lesser QB on the field last night.

he was probably the GOAT before that win.

How can you say that? Mahomes couldn’t even get 1 TD pass.

After scrambling about 50 yards in the backfield to buy time, he threw a sidearm pass from about a foot off the ground as he was being tackled that traveled 35 yards through a tight window to the endzone on a dime, but his receiver let it bounce off his facemask. One of the most incredible plays I've ever seen a QB make.

    Brady's TD passes were:
    1. Screen pass from the pocket behind the line to wide open Gronk (no defensive pressure)
    2. 25 yard pass from the pocket to wide open Gronk (no defensive pressure)
    3. 1 yard slant from the pocket to open Antonio Brown (no defensive pressure)

Flying sidearm throws are all well and good but when you lose 31-9, they don’t really matter.

Pretty nifty run in the second half. Evaded a few tacklers, but tackled at the 1-yard-line. Penalty wiped out the play.

Ben dealt with the same kind of lousy protection this year by getting the ball out of his hand just as soon as he could grip it and throw it.  Mahomes ( coching staff?) never tried that, which might have been much more effective.

Mahomes isn't so great that an incomplete pass and a scramble are in any way better than a QB who got the job done...in the same exact way he's gotten it done for almost two decades.   Brady outplayed Mahomes.  The Bucs outplayed the Chiefs.

mainly the Bucs, out-played the Chiefs (coached as well).

Taylor Heinicke outplayed all of them.
