No baseball tournament for the next 4 years. It was part of the COVID cutbacks that also changed the basketball tournament to top 8 only.

I do hope they reverse this decision at some point. The baseball tournament is always a lot of fun.

Are fans allowed at Miami baseball games this season?

    SPRING SPORTS ATTENDANCE POLICIES

As Miami Athletics and health authorities continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, capacity at outdoor sporting events in Oxford will be increased up to the maximum of 30% based on the State of Ohio's orders. At this point in time, the primary focus will still be on hosting families and support systems of Miami student-athletes and coaches. Due to the increase in numbers, Miami Athletics will also allocate some seats to accommodate visiting team families and support systems. Specific quantities will be communicated to visiting institutions, who will have the discretion on how the allocation will be used. There is no general public attendance at any Miami Athletics event at this time.

The last thing this club needed right now was a canceled four game weekend series after dropping 3 of 4 at home last weekend. No midweek games means an almost two week stretch without a game.

Lost another 3 out of 4 at home against Kent State this weekend.  Dropped to 12-8 in the MAC standings.  Next 14 games are on the road including 3 of these make-up games at BGSU and a 3 game series at WVU.

Not sure what's happened to the team since the strong start.

Looks like somebody needs to exorcise the bats. We’ve only scored more than 4 runs once in the last 8 games. Bachman took a rare loss yesterday but struck out 11 through 5. All we could get him was 2 runs.

And those BG games are a nuisance. Have to make three separate bus trips to BG for three single games. The season seems to have gone in the tank with the Western Michigan series and the BG postponement.

One of the trips is a DH, but agree...you'd have thought this could be done in one trip over two days with DHs each day.

Looks like today marks the start of a 13 game road trip for the boys. Good luck! Maybe the bats will come back to life.

What in the world has happened to this ball club? They lost the first game at CMU today 14-0 - a CMU no-hitter!

There was a game today where we had no runs no hits and 6 errors

The once promising RedHawks season continues to melt away like warm dog poop in a hard rain. 0-3 at CMU this weekend and still not scoring any runs. Bachman lost a two-hitter in Saturday’s first game when Miami could only produce one run. What a mystery!

Another L today - at BG - 7-1. Still no offense whatsoever. 2-11 since the EMU series.

Well, our once promising season (picked to finish #2 behind Kent) has finally crashed to the ground. We finish by being swept four games at Ball State. The series was a microcosm of the last half of our season - great to good pitching, solid defense and paltry hitting. During the four games we struck out 43 times and scored four runs total. We finished 25-31 and 7th in the MAC.

Our run production really tailed off after our first 25 games. We averaged 5.6 runs during the first 25 games and 3.6 during our last 29 games - all but two (WVU) against MAC completion. Our team ERA was the best in the league and our team batting average was last in the MAC. I think we need a different rack of bats next season.
