  • Yahoo Sports Conference Rankings after Week 3

Fyi Sagarin has the MAC West way above the C-USA East, which is only barely above the MAC East. MAC West is also above the Aun Belt East and barely behind both MWC divisions as well. Belt East is behind the Missouri Valley, though the MVC has been above some FBS divisions in the past so it's not unprecedented.

Isnt it too early for sagarin?
Probably, but it's still interesting to note. After the next week or two we should have an idea.

  • MAC Opportunities - Week Three

Down 28-14 to start the fourth quarter and then went four straight 4 and outs while at the same time giving up yardage in big chunks to the Cajuns and 3 touchdowns. Second best team in MAC East according to the media predictors. Seriously? How could the get it that wrong?
Wow OU got absolutely smoked by UL

They were assuming that they'd keep going at the rate they were under Solich when the reality is that his regime was an outlier in OU football history.

And his regime still produced 0 MAC championships.
Very true, though I think it feels like a bigger deal because of the drought that preceded him. Don't get me wrong it's still something that'll taint his legacy, but there have been many successful MAC coaches who didn't win the MAC (Randy Walker comes to mind) but aren't remembered as much for that since they weren't around as long as Frank and their programs aren't waiting for their first title since the 60s. I think Miami fans would take their seasons between 2005 and 2020 over ours in a heartbeat, even if it meant giving up 2010 and 2019 titles.

  • Minnesota Game Thread

In year eight of Martin we should be in a position where if we play a top ten team like UC we compete with them like we're playing Minnesota today (at the minimum) and beat average P5 schools. Instead we only can win against MAC schools, which is fine if you're a program with the history of EMU (who ironically has a few P5 wins the past few seasons) but not a place like Miami.

  • MAC OOC FBS Record Over the Past 10 Seasons

I started at Miami in 2012 and saw nine wins in four years as a student. That's the baseline we're dealing with here, unfortunately even if the program has stagnated under Martin it's hard to see a change coming even if warranted. We're not bad enough that we NEED a change like 2013 and we're not good enough for Martin to get hired away or take the program where it can be.
